The Socket Pin and Clip is the original-equipment fastener that secures a spring arm inside the hitch head socket on every Equal-i-zer weight distribution hitch. The steel pin passes through the socket and the arm’s trunnion; the spring-steel clip slides through the cross-hole at the end to keep the pin from backing out under load.

This is the part to order when a clip has gone missing or a pin has worn, bent, or walked off at a campsite. It matches the factory pin in diameter and length, so it seats correctly and does not introduce slop at the hitch head. One pin and one clip are included; order two if you want to replace both sides.

If you would rather not keep track of a separate clip, the Socket Pins with Thumb Clips do the same job with the retainer built in. Either way, keep a spare on hand: a lost socket pin means a trailer that cannot be towed until it is replaced.
